Three Best Ways to Eat Spaghetti Squash
Everybody has probably heard about the new, spaghetti squash fad that is popular today. Spaghetti squash has similar properties and texture of regular pasta but without all of the calories and carbohydrates making it a really healthy alternative! Listed below are three of my favorite ways to enjoy spaghetti squash and not feel guilty afterwards!
1. Spaghetti Squash and Turkey Meatballs. Making some homemade turkey meatballs and tossing them in a freshly crushed tomato sauce will really vamp up your traditional spaghetti with meatballs recipe. Instead of pouring the sauce and meatballs over pasta, you simply roast a spaghetti squash, use a fork to create the noodle texture and then pour the pasta sauce mixture over the spaghetti squash, and enjoy!
2.Pesto Spaghetti Squash and Grilled Chicken. Grill up some tasty chicken, and toss into a delicious pesto sauce to create a chicken pesto. Then roast the spaghetti squash with a little salt and pepper and pour the pesto chicken mixture over top to create a really hearty and delicious meal.
3. Breakfast Spaghetti Squash Boats. Another great twist to cooking with spaghetti squash is to use them as as a boat. You can cook up some turkey sausage and add to the roasted spaghetti squash and use the squash as a bowl to hold all of your breakfast ingredients and cut out the carbs by using the spaghetti squash instead of hash-browns or other breakfast potatoes that add a ton of carbs to your breakfast every morning.
