Sugar Detox: How to Cleanse Your Body after a Binge

Detoxing is a great way to get your body back into balance, especially after eating an unhealthy diet. For some sugar is one of the culprits to bad eating habits. One day you need a lift and reach for a candy bar or some other type of sugary delight; then the next minute your sluggish and tired. So the trick is to notice when the sugar craver is raging and how to combat it and get your body back in balance.

Once you have figured out the triggers that make you reach for sugar; you will need to know how to replace those triggers with positive and nutritious choices. One good positive nutritious choice is peanut butter. Peanut butter has natural fat and protein; which slows digestion and gives you a sense of fulfillment, which is the opposite of ingesting sugar. Stay hydrated with plenty of water, it’s a natural detoxifier. Water also helps the kidneys and colon to get rid of waste in the body. Adding lemon to your water is great for taste and it is a natural benefit for water retention.

During your detox journey, you should plan your meals ahead of time this will eliminate unhealthy snacking. Also eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. One thing your body needs is good nutrition to replace the bad. Lastly, get plenty of exercise during this time. Exercise will trigger those feel good endorphins throughout your body. In addition, exercise will give you that natural lift without the need of sugar.
